AVEENO® Be An Active Natural™ Fund has found its
THIRD winner, Rachelle Roper of Belleview, Florida and her organization
Feed the Need Garden! The AVEENO's Be An Active Natural™ fund, which is awarding $10,000 grants to people monthly who are making a positive difference in their communities.
Here is a little more about Rachelle:
While
growing up, Rachelle learned all there is to know about gardening and
producing her own food. During the economic downturn she recognized the
need to share her insight with others in her community. From there, Feed the Need Garden
was born, a non-profit with the mission “to end hunger locally by
teaching those in need how to grow and preserve their own food.”
Rachelle organizes local seminars where she educates those willing to
learn her craft. In addition, Rachelle has donated a plot of her very
own land to create what she calls, “the teaching garden,” where she
invites locals to learn best practices first hand. Check out a recent TV interview and find out what she plans to do with her $10,000 grant.
I have my own organic garden at home and I love coming home because it means I can head straight to my garden and see what sprouted during the day. We enjoy the pickled cucumbers and stewed tomatoes all winter long and every jar that we open we can smell a little bit of summer to warm up those cold winter days! Do you have your own organic garden?
Support Rachelle and her phenomenal organization. Are you doing something that positively impacts the world around you? Share your story at Aveeno and you could be the next winner.
In
honor of Rachelle’s passion for gardening, we would like to offer a garden themed
giveaway! One reader will receive a special garden-starter kit
(see below) as well as seeds to plant a select few of the coveted
AVEENO® ACTIVE NATURALS® in your own backyard!
Simply enter to win through the rafflecopter form below. The giveaway is open to US residents only and ends August 13th @ 11:59pm EST. Good Luck

No I dnt- well not that I know of my mom has a great green thumb!! We have a wonderful garden but not by my doing!!
I'm working on a green thumb. Every year I try to add more to my garden. This year we went from 1 raised bed to 3. I'm hoping ot add berry bushes next year and maybe a true herb garden.
I can really easily get things to grow well, especially from seeds, but my problem is *keeping* them alive. I tend to forget to water plants regularly, which in the south Texas heat kills things really quickly.
When I was younger I got a little bit of a green thumb, but I just dont have it anymore
I have always been pretty good with all kinds of house plants. I have gotten better over the years with gardening. I love all of it:)
