My 6 year old is heading to 1st grade and a new elementary school on Monday. I loved school as a kid and remembered asking at age 4 when it was my turn to go to school. My son is so excited to go which makes me so happy. I also love the back to school shopping, my brother and I would browse the circulars and circle the items we liked the most and wait impatiently till shopping day.
Preparation for Back to School
I wanted to make the back to school shopping a fun event for my son and so we browsed the circulars before heading to the store with his back to school list in hand.
My son chose a Phillies backpack and a Cars2 lunchbag. Look how happy he is...
We also picked up a back to school backpack for my daughter for Pre-K. They often head outoors in the fall and winter for hikes so a princess backpack is a must : )
We also headed to the grocery store and picked up snacks for his lunch and recess. Its important to make your children feel part of the process. At 6 my son already has his own ideas and I love to nurture him and allow him to express his feelings and thoughts.
After we brought all his accessories and back to school gear it was time to label everything. Tinyprints offers book labels and also lunch notes which will be fun surprise for my son. After many years of having lunch provided by the school I look forward to making his own lunch and sticking in a cute note
