Black and Decker Ultimate Sandwich Recipe Contest - Heavenly Grape Turkey Havarti

This recipe is part of the Black and Decker Ultimate Sandwich Recipe Contest that I'm participating in. I was provided a Black and Decker Convection Toaster Oven to aid in the Ultimate Sandwich recipe.  In our household we encourage everyone to eat healthily but also to be open to new foods.  My children are very good eaters and its amazing how many of their friends only eat chicken nuggets and fries every day.  So I wanted my sandwich recipe to be healthy yet delicious and unique tasting sandwich that will be enjoyed by children and adults alike.

My sandwich is titled Heavenly Grape Turkey Havarti

Ingredients

2 slices of wheat bread

2 thinly sliced turkey breast

2 thinly sliced Harvarti cheese with dill

Rocket leaves

Concord Grape Jelly

Directions

Set the toaster oven to toast setting

Place the 2 slices of bread in the toaster oven to toast

Remove the toast and place the turkey breast and harvarti cheese with dill slices onto the toast

Dot concord grape Jelly onto the Harvarti cheese

Set the toaster oven to broil setting and toast the open faced sandwich until cheese and grape jelly is nicely melted

Place rocket leaves onto grilled sandwich - add the remaining toast slice on top

Serve with apple and pear slices for a yummy healthy sandwich that the whole family will enjoy

The grape jelly brings in a new dimension that you do not expect for a turkey and cheese sandwich.  The rocket adds a spicy, warm and kind of nutty taste and is complimented well with the creamy harvarti dill cheese.  This got a huge thumbs up from the whole family and I hope it does too for the contest.
