While flicking through my local ads I found the PECO Smart Appliance Recycling program. If you have a working and empty refridgerator or freezer and are a current PECO electric company they will pick up and pay you $35. Nice little money maker if you are about to switch out your appliance soon.

Must be empty and working at the time of pickup
Must be between 10 and 30 cubic feet (this is usually indicated on the side of the refrigerator or freezer door)
Must be accessible with a clear, safe path for removal

My parents just did this. They contacted them through our local Electric company. They had to haul it to driveway on day specified and about 2 weeks later their check arrived! It was a non-working freezer thay had in the garage for a while! This is legit, it worked for them!
Thanks Esluka for commenting! I may have a working dryer and washing machine to get rid of soon if I can find a deal, wonder if there are any programs like this for washer and dryers?
