Blogmania: Glee Gum Candy Making Kit review & Giveaway - early entries

As a busy working Mom of two active young children, I am inspired to keep my family entertained as well as focus on encouraging healthy developmental learning.  So I was happy to learn that Glee Gum was not only going to sponsor a Make Your Own Candy Kit giveaway for the Blogmania event but also send us a Make Your Own Gummies Kit for review.

My children take a gummy vitamin each day and so its wonderful to be able to show them how to make their own gummies from scratch using natural ingredients. The kit comes with all the ingredients that you would need, a recipe sheet and also a story on carrageenan, a natural chemical found in seaweed that works just like gelatin (used in many food to make them thicker and more stable at room temperature).

The recommended ages for the candy making kit are 8+ but I was able to let my children get involved in certain fun parts of the process such as mixing.

We used the molding starch to make oval shaped gummies, straws to make gummy worms and also we found molds from their playdoh kit (washed and sterilized thoroughly of course)

After allowing the gummies to set in the refrigerator for 10 minutes we placed them in a bag of sour mix
